Colorado Trip

Fishing with Grandpa


The number one thing my kids have to do when we go to Colorado is: fishing.


We didn't catch any fish this day but the kids still had fun.


The twins loves playing in the water while the big kids fished.


The big boys needed their own space :)


The little ones also enjoyed eating and throwing rocks.


Samantha insisted on holding cousin Morgan's hand.



Cheyenne Mountain Zoo


No trip to Grandpa and Grandma's house would be complete without a trip to the zoo. Ethan (cousin), Samantha, Lincoln, and Tyler are really thrilled to have their picture taken.

Samantha (pink hat) didn't want to stop feed the giraffes. I think it's interesting that instead of feeding them crackers they now have guest feed them lettuce leaves.


The kids also got to pet a wallaby.


At the end of the day I got to bring some animals home with me.

Roller Skating


After seeing cousin Ethan play roller hockey my kids begged to go roller skating.


Ethan tried to help Tyler learn to skate. Tyler spent a most if his time on his butt but he kept at it and improved his balance. He keeps asking to go again.


Samantha stayed close to the wall the whole time.


I helped Lincoln so I could catch him when he fell. He liked skating but would have given up if he hadn't had me keeping him up off the hard floor.

Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort

We went with my parents and my brother's family up in the mountains to a hot springs resort.


We spend the night in this cute cabin.


We swam in the hot springs swimming pools and the highlight was this 300ft. water slide. It was fun sliding down the mountain into the pool. Even the twins loved the water slide.

Samantha loves being in the water. I think she is part mermaid.


Danielle is fearless in the water. She thinks she can swim and I am constantly pulling her up out of the water.


Thankfully Collin is not as crazy as his sister. Lincoln was loving his uncle Erich. He really missed his dad.

Near the resort there was a fish hatchery so we stopped and fed the fish.

The Garden
My favorite part about being at my parent's home is that we spend 90% of our time outside. Mom and Dad have a great front yard and an even better back yard. The kids had fun picking peas, carrots, and zucchini from the garden.

The kids liked shelling them more then they liked eating them, which meant more for me :)

Popsicles


Mel and Betty have always lived in the house next door and they are like family. Every year when the kids come Mel buys a box of popsicles to give the kids.
